In a virtual ceremony held on 15 November 2020, 15 countries ̶ the ASEAN and its five trade partners in APAC ̶ signed the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) after almost eight years of negotiations. The RCEP is the world's largest trade bloc, covering nearly a third of the global economy, with deep focus on trade in goods, trade in services, investment, economic and technical cooperation, intellectual property, competition, e-commerce, and small and medium enterprises, among others.
