The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), supported by the European Commission and the intellectual property offices of EU Member States, has launched the SME Fund 2026 to help small and medium-sized enterprises protect and make effective use of their intellectual property (IP) rights. Launched on 2 February, the 2026 edition continues the successful voucher-based reimbursement scheme, allowing SMEs to recover part of their IP-related expenses.
- Voucher 1: IP Scan and IP Scan Enforcement - 90% reimbursement
- Voucher 2: Trade marks and designs - up to 75% reimbursement
- Voucher 3: Patents - up to 75% reimbursement
- Voucher 4: Community Plant Varieties - 75% reimbursement
Before the launch of SME Fund 2026, the initiative reached an important milestone, having provided financial support to 100,000 SMEs, with the 100,000th beneficiary receiving reimbursement for IP-related costs.
