Description
Company A, which produces a variety of snacks and beverages, owns several trade marks for their products. Each trade mark is distinct but shares a common brand element. The company decided to expand its product line to include a new range of energy bars. When Company A applied to register the new trade mark, the Tanzania Trade Mark Registry reviewed the application and noted the existing trade marks owned by Company A. The registry required company A to associate the new trade mark with the already registered trade mark with common brand element.
