Description

The SME is a Swedish company engaged in the sales of consumer products. Its main markets are in Europe, but the SME is planning to have some of its products assembled in China using the components produced in collaboration with various Chinese OEMs. The company is currently in the process of setting up arrangements with the Chinese suppliers and assembly facilities. The SME’s China-based assembly partner will be in charge of printing the brand logo and brand designs as well as labelling some of the parts before the final assembly of the product. All logos and designs will be created and provided by the SME. The SME, worried about the misuse of their trademark in China, contacted the China IP SME Helpdesk to learn how to minimise the risks that their brand name and logo designs may be used on other products apart from what is ordered by the company.
