IP in the Agri- Food sector (II): Plant Varieties

In the past two decades, Latin America’s agri-food sector has become a global powerhouse. It includes the production, processing, packaging, and distribution of food and beverages. This sector demonstrates strong growth and competitiveness, supported not only by the region’s expanding population, abundant natural resources, rich biodiversity, and the potential of arable land (especially in Brazil and Argentina), but also by new regulatory frameworks, integration of innovation and technological advances, and evolving market demands.
