Classification of Goods and Services - Trademark

A European SME designs and produces linen products including bedsheets, bathrobes, kitchen tablecloths and bathroom towels. The SME had not yet entered the China market when it was contacted by an IP law firm in China about their trademark being registered by someone in China, potentially in bad faith. The law firm enquired whether the SME was interested in opposing the trademark registration and offered to handle the opposition proceedings. The SME, suspecting a scam, contacted the China IP SME Helpdesk for advice.
